What the Extension Does

The send/links extension lets you save the current page or selected link to your send/links account from your browser, including optional private saves. The extension runs only when you open the popup, use a keyboard shortcut, or choose a send/links context menu action.

Permissions We Request

• activeTab: temporarily access the active tab after you trigger the extension so we can read the page URL, title, selected text, selected link, and related metadata needed to save.
• contextMenus: show right-click menu actions for saving a selected link or selected text to send/links.
• storage: store local extension state such as cached signed-in user information and a small install-status flag so the popup and background worker can function reliably.
• scripting: run small scripts in the active tab after you trigger the extension so we can collect page metadata and show in-page save feedback.
• notifications: show save-status feedback when an in-page message is unavailable and notify you if private mode needs setup.

Host Access

The extension requests host access only for https://sendlinks.app/*. This is used to check your send/links session, save links to your account, refresh saved-link metadata, and record extension installation status. The extension does not request persistent host access to all websites.

Data Handling

When you choose to save something, the extension may process the page URL, title, domain, description, preview image, selected text, selected link, text-fragment link, optional note, category choice, and whether the save is private. To support the signed-in experience, the extension may also locally cache basic account data returned by send/links, including user ID, name, email address, and avatar URL. We use this information only to provide the extension feature set and do not sell personal data. Private saves are treated as private-mode content in your account.

What We Do Not Collect

The extension does not passively collect your browsing history or monitor your activity across websites. It reads page information only for the tab you explicitly choose to save from.
